KJR Alumni Jason Willms Named Captain of OHL Barrie Colts
Submitted By Dean DeSilva on Tuesday, January 15, 2019
Kitchener Minor Hockey Association alumni Jason Willms has been named captain of the OHL Barrie Colts.

Jason, who played his entire minor hockey career as a Jr. Ranger was drafted to Barrie in the 3rd round, 43rd overall from the Kitchener Jr. Rangers Minor Midget AAA program in the 2015 OHL Priority Draft.

Jason has had a successful OHL career to date:

GP 177   Goals 49   Assists 60   Points 109.

His strong play, work ethic, face off skills and leadership didn’t go unnoticed as Jason attended the Chicago Blackhawks rookie training camp this past fall.

Jason is no stranger to wearing the C as he was captain many years during his minor hockey playing days as a Jr. Ranger.

Jason is a strong supporter of the Kitchener Minor Hockey Program where he not only developed on the ice but off the ice as well.  It is for this reason Jason’s strong leadership qualities have been identified in naming him captain.   When at home Jason regularly skates with local KMHA teams and provides inspiration to our current players who want to follow in his footsteps.

Congratulations Jason, KMHA is very proud of you.
