Dean DeSilva Heading to the WHL
Submitted By KMHA on Tuesday, August 20, 2019
KMHA is so excited for Dean DeSilva, former Kitchener Jr Rangers Minor Midget AAA Head Coach and KMHA Director of Development on his new role as Assistant Coach for the WHL Vancouver Giants for the 2019-2020 season.

Dean was the Minor Midget AAA Head Coach for last 7 seasons and Director of Development for the past 3 year seasons.  Dean has provided KMHA players with hockey guidance and coaching on and off the ice.  Dean also taught them life skills to take forward in whatever path these young men follow after their Minor Hockey career.  For coaches, he has been a leader and mentor offering advice and support.

Darren Stevenson of 519 Sports Online who has followed and supported so many KMHA teams over the past few years, interviewed Dean about his years and memories with KMHA prior to his leaving for out West.

Dean reflected on his time with KMHA with a smile, appreciating all he learned and the friendships created. Thanking everyone from his coaching staff, players, parents, the KMHA Directors and the Alliance.

Darren asked Dean what would be his message to everyone.  To everyone: "Chase Your Dreams".  "If a door opens go through it, you never know what could happen.  It can be scary, challenging, may not work out the way you thought but you will always be better for it"

Thank you Dean for everything you have given to KMHA.  We wish you all the best in this new and exciting chapter in your life.  You will always be a part of the KMHA Family.  Safe travels.
