Kitchener Minor Hockey Announces U10 to U18 Advanced House League Hockey
A New Competitive Opportunity for Our Recreational Players.

Kitchener Minor Hockey is excited to announce a new and progressive opportunity for our U10 to U18 Recreational players and families. We are moving forward with a pilot program introducing Advanced House League hockey through the Tri-County Advanced House League (TCMHL) within the OMHA. This new initiative is designed to provide an enhanced development pathway for players who are looking for a higher level of competition, while still maintaining the accessibility and community spirit of Recreational hockey.

Why This Matters for Our Players

The Advanced House League concept is becoming increasingly popular across Ontario, as families look for a balanced hockey experience that sits between traditional Recreational hockey and full Representative programs.

Over the past several seasons, we have heard from many KMHA families looking for more competitive opportunities within our association — while still keeping hockey fun, affordable, and locally focused. The TCMHL Advanced House League was built in direct response to that feedback.

What Is the TCMHL Advanced House League?

The TCMHL Advanced House League is a one-schedule program that replaces Select and gives players a complete competitive experience under a single commitment. This means:

Regular season games against other participating associations

Structured practices focused on skill development

Tournaments and a full playoff structure

A direct pathway into KMHA's Representative programs for players who are ready to take that next step

This is more than extra ice time. It is a structured development environment built for motivated recreational players who want to be challenged and continue growing their love for the game within Kitchener Minor Hockey.

What This Program Offers

A higher level of competition for motivated players

       More meaningful and competitive games

       Additional development opportunities

A bridge between House League and Representative hockey

A structured league schedule against other participating associations

Community Town Hall Information Session

Because this is an important new venture for our association, we want to ensure our membership has the opportunity to learn more, ask questions, and share feedback before we get underway.

Kitchener Minor Hockey will be hosting a Town Hall Information Session to walk through the full details of the Advanced House League pilot program. During the Town Hall, we will cover:

The structure of the TCMHL Advanced House League

       Player eligibility and age divisions

       Full-Time vs. Part-Time program options

       Tryout process and timelines

       Coaching opportunities

       League scheduling and expectations

Questions and feedback from our membership

This session will ensure every family has the information they need to make the right decision for their player.

Town Hall date and location will be announced shortly. Stay tuned to our website and social media channels for the official announcement.

Timbits
The Timbits Minor Sports Program is a community-oriented sponsorship program for children four to eight years old who participate in local house league sports teams. The program's philosophy is not based on winning or losing - but on learning a new sport, making new friends, and just taking time out to be a kid. Tim Hortons currently sponsors over 200,000 children who play on hockey, soccer, lacrosse, t-ball, baseball and ringette teams across Canada and in the United States. Each sponsored team is supplied with Timbits Minor Sports jerseys or T-shirts. Timbits hockey teams are often given the opportunity to play on-ice scrimmages during intermissions at Junior, American Hockey League (AHL) and National Hockey League (NHL) games and do so with our own KITCHENER JR. A RANGERS. Tim Horton's once again sponsor's our 40 entry level HL teams this year.
