Kitchener Jr Rangers U18 Select - BCHL Tournament of Friends Champs!
Big Congratulations to the U18 Select team who went 6-0 this past weekend in Brantford to take home the BCHL Tournament of Friends Championship Banner!

The Jr Rangers were in tough in the final game against a very skilled and fast squad, the Joran Lions, and found themselves trailing 3-1 with less than 8 minutes to go in the 3rd period. A marker with 6:05 remaining gave the boys some life, and with 0:43 left, and with the goalie out, the Jr. Rangers tied things up.

After grueling 3 on 3, 2 on 2, and 1 on 1 overtime periods solved nothing, the Championship would be decided in a shootout. It took until the 10th round of the sudden death shootout where we found the back of the net, and got a huge save at our end to seal the deal.    Huge shout out to the goalie duo and defensive group who combined, gave up only 6 goals throughout the tournament, and our forwards who provided a balanced attack all weekend, and saw 3 of our skaters in the top 4 in tournament scoring.   Thank you to the BCHL Saints Organization for hosting a great weekend in Brantford!

Sun Life Kids In Gear
Donna's Kids is pleased to partner again for 2019/2020 season with Sun Life and their Kids In Gear program. Kitchener Minor Hockey Association, as part of their mandate, provides financial support for children in this community who, without our assistance, would not be afforded the opportunity to participate in organized hockey in the City of Kitchener. Monies for this cause have been donated by various individuals and organizations over the years, however with increasing demands we have the need to provide further support for this program. One hundred per cent of the funds raised by KIDS IN GEAR are channelled directly to purchase equipment for children.

Timbits
The Timbits Minor Sports Program is a community-oriented sponsorship program for children four to eight years old who participate in local house league sports teams. The program's philosophy is not based on winning or losing - but on learning a new sport, making new friends, and just taking time out to be a kid. Tim Hortons currently sponsors over 200,000 children who play on hockey, soccer, lacrosse, t-ball, baseball and ringette teams across Canada and in the United States. Each sponsored team is supplied with Timbits Minor Sports jerseys or T-shirts. Timbits hockey teams are often given the opportunity to play on-ice scrimmages during intermissions at Junior, American Hockey League (AHL) and National Hockey League (NHL) games and do so with our own KITCHENER JR. A RANGERS. Tim Horton's once again sponsor's our 40 entry level HL teams this year.
