Applicants must be turning a minimum of 14 years of age in 2019 to apply to become a KMHA referee. Applicants always exceed positions available. We cannot respond to all applicants. KMHA will process no more than 45 applications. A compulsory on ice recruitment will be held in the Fall. We will hire no more than 14 candidates for certification. If you were a KMHA referee for the 18-19 season you do not fill out this form to recertify. The Alliance will be sending information to you during the summer.
  1. This position requires considerable commitment by the referee and parent/guardian if applicable.  This includes punctuality, attendance at assignments & meetings, procedures, record keeping, game sheet accuracy, organization, personal skills, good conduct rules knowledge, equipment expenses and annual recertification.  Arenas can be cold, shifts may be long and spectators and participants can be emotional.  Some physical risk is possible.  Tournaments require assignments during some weekdays.  Shifts may start early in the morning and some may end late at night.
