KMHA Mission Statement:

To provide a hockey program that promotes the importance and understanding of work ethic, good sportsmanship, discipline, team work and the fair treatment of others under all circumstances and all conditions. To teach respect for others, regardless of race, place of origin, family circumstance, gender or creed. To encourage players to uphold these principles and to become fine young adults, contributing to the community after their playing involvement is over.

Where To Start:

Learn to Hockey Skate (Co-ed): is a great and FUN place for your young ones to learn the basics of Hockey skating.  This program is designed to start aspiring hockey players in their skating careers by placing them on Hockey skates and in Hockey equipment. Taught by qualified and enthusiastic instructors the participant will gain a sense of confidence on their skates and grow to learn the skills required to participate in the Hockey Beginnings program.

 

Hockey Beginnings (Co-ed):  The place or an aspiring player to learn fundamental skating and puck skills. As the introductory hockey program in Kitchener this is the place to start. If you have already played hockey before, look to our PLAY menu for details about our leagues. If you are looking to continue to develop your hockey skills and improve your abilities look under the intermediate development program.

Lady Rangers Rookies: Designed specially for girls ages 4 – 8. The program focuses on skating skills and puck skills, including passing, shooting and stick handling. Hockey is the ultimate team sport. Youth hockey players learn lifelong lessons of teamwork, trust, responsibility, sportsmanship, and more.

Intermediate Development: Designed to improve a player's skills in skating passing and shooting.  It is recommended to have completed the Hockey Beginnings Program (minimum two years) or playing a minimum House League at Tyke/Novice (age 7/8).

Advanced Development: Provide extra ice time to enhance player's skills in skating, passing puck handling and shooting.  It is recommended to have completed the Intermediate Development Program.

Goalie Development:
Designed for goaltenders ages 7 to 16 who want to improve their goaltending skills. Goalie equipment will be provided to those who need it on the class days right at the rink.

Required equipment for goalies includes: CSA approved Helmet with cage or full face shield, certified neck guard, shoulder pads, elbow pads, Hockey pants, shin guards, jock/jill strap, garter belt, hockey socks, hockey sweater, hockey gloves, properly fitting skates, hockey stick. This program is offered at different times, dates, and locations for your convenience.

Local League:

A community oriented hockey program structured to provide development and competition at a recreational level. Kitchener Minor Hockey Association is proud to offer the fastest and most exciting sport on ice to the girls of Kitchener. Our house league teams participate in the Kitchener Local League and play against centre’s in and around Waterloo Region. This Program is designed to support the passion, commitment and enjoyment of all its participants. BE A PART OF OUR TEAM!

Representative Hockey:

K.M.H.A.'s Rep Program was developed to allow for the potential development of a hockey player at the highest level of competition and at the caliber most suited to the individual hockey player's needs, abilities and desires.
