Josh grew up playing hockey in Petrolia, and his love for hockey continued through his children Evan and Hayden who currently play in KMHA.  Josh has been part of the KMHA family since 2017 both in our house league and rep Boys programs.

Part of Josh’s love for coaching is the relationships that are developed with the parents, other volunteers/staff and most importantly the players.

Aside from coaching, Josh enjoys golfing, mountain biking and spending time with family and friends.  When it comes to other sports, for Josh it would be a tie between football and golf but hockey is his first choice hands down.

Part of the whole minor hockey time for a player are the memories.  Scores are forgotten but the memories will bring smiles long time after.  For Josh, one of his fondest memories was spending a week in Detroit at Steve Yzerman and Shawn Burr’s Hockey School in the early 90’s. “We had some epic Canada vs. USA battles throughout the week and got a lot of training (Dryland and on ice) with Yzerman, Burr and Federov”.

“Josh is always willing to help and step up to help with our programs.  He believes in the programs and KMHA but most of all, giving back and the kids. We are lucky to have him as a volunteer.”  - Reagan Yuke, Director of Boys Rep U8 to U12.

It has been said “Nothing is as strong as the heart of a volunteer”.  Josh Bedard has this heart.
