Thank you for volunteering to be a Bench Staff member for our OWHA program.  Please use this reference to ensure you have all requirements needed.

You will be reimbursed for approved training, police check and certification costs.  Please use this form to be reimbursed.

All OWHA Bench Staff needs to complete the following:

OWHA Profile

  1. Go to Kitchener GHA : RAMP Registrations
  2. Login or Create a New Account
  3. On the right-hand side you will see “Coach/Staff Registration”
  4. Please click this and register yourselves for the current season as a staff member for the appropriate age level
Vulnerable Sector (Police) Check- This needs to be completed every 3 seasons.  Please note, Vulnerable Sector Checks (VSC) must now be approved by the OHF, not KMHA.  Please see here for details of how to get your VSC Approved by the OHF.
Gender Identity Training - This only needs to be completed once.
Bench Staff Respect in Sport - This only needs to be completed once.
Trainer Staff - All teams require at least one certified Trainer with their valid T1 certification.    

Coaching Staff courses required depend on age and playing level of the team. Course Links can be found on the OWHA coaching page: Ontario Women's Hockey Association : Website by RAMP InterActive (owha.on.ca)

For Local League hockey, only the Head Coach requires Coaching certifications.  Assistant Coaches are recommended but not required.   In General, if you are coaching the U9 age group and younger, you need your C1.  If you are coaching the U10 age group and above, you need your C2.    A C1 is not needed before you get your C2.  If you are coaching U10 and above, you can go directly to a C2.
