Great weekend U9 KJR Select Team
The U9 Select Kitchener Jr. Rangers captured the trophy at the Hespeler U9 Full Ice Tournament over the Family Day weekend. The Jr. Rangers’ first matchup in the three-day event was a fast and strong offensive squad from Belle River, which resulted in a 5-0 loss. In games 2 and 3, the Jr. Rangers secured wins over the St. Catharines’ Jr. Ice Dogs and the Etobicoke Bulldogs (white). Next came a matchup against the Orillia Terriers which resulted in a 3-3 tie. The Jr. Rangers’ 2-1-1 record was enough to progress to the championship game, where they faced the top-seeded Belle River Canadians for a second time. Hard work by both offense and defense paid off, with a final score of 5-2 in favour of the Jr. Rangers. The MVP Playoff Award of the tournament went to Owen Y. The Jr. Rangers have had a strong start to the 2024-2025 season. In addition to earning a gold medal in Hespeler, the team brought home silver in the Lefroy Lucky Puck tournament in January. The talented team is supported by an exceptional coaching staff. Congratulations to the players and coaches on their accomplishments this hockey season. Way to go, U9 Select Kitchener Jr. Rangers!
