Rangers Not Looking To Hand Out Treats
The day before All Hallow's Eve saw the Ladies from Kitchener turn aggressive.
Coach Scott speaks persistantly about 'Determination' and the girls are catching on. Led by the increased agression of both Nicole and Avery, other Rangers started stepping up the pressure.
The Rangers held a 2 - 0 lead over the Roadrunners from Cambridge and looked to keep the score climbing when Cambridge turned things around, long lead passes and Kitchener breakaways were no longer getting through and and it became a game of digging and grinding, and the Roadrunners came within one.
Natalie led the way defensively driving hard to the puck and out skating Cambridge forwards, the puck was consistantly pinned against the boards. Michelle was able to control the puck and fire it hard down ice to give the team a chance to change lines and catch their breath.
Alot of the remaining period was played in the Ranger end, Eden turning away 9 shots and keeping her team in the lead, that added with some tough physical play and crisp passing by all lines helped the Rangers escape with a 2 - 1 win over the speedy and dangerous Roadrunners.
Ranger goals from Ashley and Lane, assists to Lane and Katina.
Next Game Saturday November 6 versus Wilmot Wolverines.
