Jason Cripps Tournament Recap
The following is a summary of the four games played over three days.

The SJ Sharks players, coaches and parents are to be commended for being 100% positive throughout the four games played.  Our players gave all they could on each shift, every period and each game.  I personally found it exhilarating to watch our children improve significantly over the three days of play.

As always, our coaches were patient and kind to our children making sure that their efforts were recognised and appreciated, even when facing difficult opponents.  I had fun, my child learned a great deal and had fun. He felt good about his efforts. I hope your experience was just as gratifying.

Here is a summary of the games, which doesn't really tell the story.  Our kids did really well – better than what the numbers indicate and that’s what I’m taking away from this tournament.

Game 1

Kings vs. Sharks

Final – 3 to 2 for the Sharks

Period 1 score by  Keyan Bird, assisted by Cameron Pettigrew

Period 1 score by Daniel Dousek, assisted by Spencer Bromiley and Ryan McIntyre

Period 1 score by Spencer Bromiley, assisted by Ryan McIntyre and Rémy Fournier

Game 2

Sharks vs. Capitals

Final 8 to 0 for the Capitals

However, we held them off for a period and a half!  Great defensive play all around.

Game 3

Sharks vs. Penguins

Final 6 to 4 for the Penguins

What a heartbreaker this was!

Period 1 score by Conner Callery, assisted by Spencer Bromiley

Period 1 score by Conner Callery

Period 1 score by Spencer Bromiley

Period 3 score by Hayden Pixner

Game 4

Capitals vs Sharks

Final 7 to 0 for the Capitals

Again, this was a phenomenal game.  Our kids held them off unit the 6 minute mark of the second period.  Way to go boys!

Gary, Rémy and I, hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas and wish you a happy New Year.  Stay safe and we’ll see you in 2012!
