The boys got off to a slow start to the 2017 Jason Cripps Memorial Tournament but found their game when it mattered most.
The Vipers didn't get a single win throughout the 4 game round robin portion of the tournament, finishing in the fourth and final playoff spot.
With a semifinal game scheduled against the undefeated Titans, Coach Hamilton was optimistic, "The only way for us to win this tournament, is for the Titans to lose. It may as well be us to beat them!"
The Vipers did not disappoint. They set the tone early with a relentless forecheck that kept the pressure on the Titans throughout the game and were rewarded with a convincing 4-1 Viper win.
In the tournament finale, the Vipers repeated their gameplan of solid goaltending, continuous forechecking and timely scoring to power their way to a 3-1 win over the Giants.
Congratulations Vipers! Let's continue these winning ways throughout the rest of the season!
