Opps, we did it again!!!
The Vipers just weren't quite ready to call it a season.

After dropping their first game of the House League Year End Tournament to their rivals, the Titans, by a score of 1-0, the Vipers played true to form by winning the remaining games to finish the group stage in second.

Sunday began with a tightly contested 3-0 win over the Giants in the semi-final round, setting up a rematch between the tournament's favourites, the Vipers and the Titans.

The Titans jumped out early, putting constant pressure on the Vipers.  They were rewarded with a couple goals and a 2-0 lead.  The Titans continued the pressure and got a number of other chances but were not able to capitalize further.  The Vipers were down, but they didn't give up.

With relentless determination, the Vipers finally broke through with a goal midway through the second and then drew even in the third to send the game into overtime!

... and it was a finale to remember! After starting the overtime period with only 2 men due to a late penalty, the Titan weathered the storm and found themselves with a 3-1 opportunity.  When their shot was turned away, it was the Vipers who went on the offensive.  A rink-long, 2-man breakaway sealed the deal as the Vipers completed the comeback with the overtime winner.

Congratulations to the Vipers, 2018 House League Year End Tournament Champions!

The Vipers will now represent Kitchener against a team from Waterloo for the Record Cup and end the season battling for the Alliance Championship in Woodstock on April 13-15.
