The Lady Rangers Midget A’s traveled
to Cambridge for their final meeting of the regular season and gave the
Roadrunners a “late Christmas Gift”.
Kicking off 2020 with their last regular season game against the Roadrunners, the ladies started strong taking a 1 – 0 lead after the first on a great net front tip. A strong net drive had the ladies up 2 – 1 heading into the third. While Meatloaf (An American singer / actor famous for his 1977 album Bat out of Hell) sang “two out of three ain’t bad”, it certainly doesn’t apply to hockey. While playing two strong periods, applying pressure, generating opportunity and out shooting the Roadrunners, period three was a whole different “album”! Many unforced giveaways, failed clearing attempts and passes to the wrong colored jerseys had the Roadrunners receiving a late “one point” Christmas Gift from the ladies.
Compete is not a “sometimes” thing, it is an “all the time” thing. Games are forty-two minutes in length and failure to “stop playing” smart hockey for even a few minutes can have consequences. Use every remaining regular season game to challenge yourselves to play a full “42”. Your success in February will depend on it.
