Waterloo Round Two
The second round of the 2019 -2020 LLFHL playoffs are complete and sometimes “time” is everything!

After a three-game series with the Cambridge Roadrunners, the Kitchener Lady Rangers opened round two of the LLFHL Playoffs against the Waterloo Ravens.  Although it was the Ravens who had played in a tournament the weekend before, it certainly looked like the ladies had the “tournament hangover” as the Ravens came out flying. After a strong first, the Ravens were finally able to capitalize on their “9th” shot of the second. Proving that any shot on net is a good shot, the ladies tied it up late in the third with a beautiful “curling like” shot crossing the line. Games are forty-two minutes in length for a reason. Sometimes failure to play right to the “forty-two” minute mark can be costly. Taking advantage of a “D” pinch with no “F3” coverage, a beautiful top shelf shot with just seven seconds remaining had the Lady Rangers “stealing” game one.

In a game that bore little resemblance to game 1, the second game of the series had the ladies limiting Waterloo’s scoring chances, taking care of the Ravens "several" power play opportunities (no comments on the continuing saga of our home town officials) and were finally rewarded midway through the third for a perfectly played “2 on 1”.

One more round ladies! Step up, continue to play hard and drive that bus!! You don’t always get what you wish for, you get what you work for. This is the time of the season you’re your effort and hard work counts the most. Every shift, for forty-two minutes, every game. On behalf of Bill, James, Ken, Sarah and Tim, congratulations on your second round win. Welcome to round three!
