Playoffs - Game #1 - Making it Count
The Kitchener Lady Rangers U18 “A’s” hosted the Woolwich Wild for the first game of the 2023 / 2024 Central West Division Playoffs.

Coming out strong in the first, the Lady’s had several good scoring opportunities with some prolonged O-Zone time. Late in the first, the Lady’s were finally rewarded with a great corner pass to F3 to go up by one. The strong play continued into the second in what would be their best back-to-back periods of hockey this season. Just over halfway through the third, a beautiful tic – tac – toe power play pass put the Lady’s up by two. Several minutes later, the Lady’s continued making it count with a well-played 2 on 1 for their second PP goal of the game and would take game 1 of their six game Central West playoff round.

This was perhaps the most complete game that you have played all season. Solid coverage, limited giveaways, patience, running what we “practice” and overall good “Choices and Options” had you control the play for good portions of all three periods. Making it count on both the PP and PK sides of the ice is huge. Don’t underestimate the importance of good starts.
