Happy
First Day of Summer Ranger Families!
Welcome to your second newsletter for the U16 BB/B Red team. We
use this as a means to connect with parents and share information about
upcoming schedule additions, events, and other news worthy topics.
FUNDRAISING
We will vote on our fundraising
efforts at the first parent meeting, a little closer to the start of the
season. However, Jen K has put together
a fantastic plan for us to consider. We’re hoping to do Rheo Thompson mint
smoothies in Sept/Oct. We’ll then jump
on Baden Coffee Company in November in time for Christmas. Dominos has graciously offered to help again
with some pizza vouchers in the new year too.
So in addition to Flip Give, we’re proposing 3 initiatives to help
offset the costs of a very fun season ahead!
NEXT SOCIAL
After star defenceman #4 threw
down the gauntlet at the parent meeting for a basketball challenge, we’re
arranging our next team/parent social.
The boys will square off in a 3-on-3 basketball elimination tournament
and the parents can get a cold refreshment next door at Browns. Please mark July
18 from 7pm – 9pm on your calendars.
We have secured The Run Rec located at 283 Northfield Dr E in Waterloo.
We’ll also announce the U16 golf
tournament taking place in August a little later. Stay tuned for details on that.
SPECIAL FROM DIVERSCO
Big shout out to the Boone family
for the “hockey family discount” on select watersports products from Diversco. I’ve attached a catalogue of sale items and if
anyone wants anything, please reach out to Corey directly. Thank you Corey and Diversco!
JOHN MACDONALD TOURNAMENT
A reminder we have 8 days left to
secure your hotel for the John MacDonald tournament in St Catharines from Oct
18-20. We usually try to book this early
tournament to help the boys build chemistry and for the parents to get to know
one another a little better. This is
definitely the overnighter you’ll want to kick the season off with a bang.
There’s only 65 days until our
first ice time. Stay frosty!
