Playoff's - Round #3 - Game #1
The Kitchener Lady Rangers opened round three of the playoffs at home on Saturday against the St. Catharine’s Brock Jr. Badgers.
After a good first five minutes, the Badges showed the Lady’s why they went 16 – 1 – 5 in the regular season and were 4 – 0 through their first two rounds of playoffs. Scoring on their first shot of the period while on the PK (yes, we didn’t help ourselves on that one), the Badgers would go on to outshoot and out chance the Lady’s in the last ten of the first taking a 1 – 0 lead. The Lady’s settled in for the second period starting with a good PK and some solid movement of their own on the PP. A great third had some prolonged OZ time. Good puck movement, good FO choices at both ends of the ice and a well-placed “shot on net” gave the Lady’s their first point of round three in a hard fought forty-five minutes of hockey.
Adjustments must be made. Sometimes you simply don’t have the same tools in your toolbox as others and that’s OK! There are many ways to get the job done and you found ways to do so this afternoon. Every shift will be a battle. Take what they are giving you, make the necessary adjustments and play hockey the way you can. Congratulations on a well-earned first point of round 3.
