Playoff's - Round #3 - Game #4
The Kitchener Lady Rangers travelled to the Gemini arena in Strathroy to face the Bluewater Hawks in Game #4 of Round #3.
Coming off a tough loss to the Hawks just two days earlier, the Lady’s came with some huge “GAF” factor (coach acknowledges and takes full verbiage responsibility for this one) in game #4. A great first saw the Lady’s keeping pace and out shooting the Hawks. Their efforts were rewarded just over five minutes into the second with a beautiful low give and go quick release to take the lead by one heading into the break. Although never sure who the benefit favors on the prolonged intermission, an extremely unlucky deflection gave the Lady’s a gut punch and had the game tied at one just under five minutes into the third. Much like the many things’ life will throw your way, it was at this point that the Lady’s had a couple of choices to make. The easy route - keel over, stay down, feel sorry for their unluckiness and call it a game, or get up, shake it off and keep driving the bus like they had done for the entire game to this point. Their choice was clear and just a minute and nine seconds later, a great “shot on net” (how nice to be rewarded for the opportunity!) gave the Lady’s the lead with just over nine minutes remaining. Continued solid play and smart choices and options would give the Hawks their first loss of Round #3 and a well deserved “W” for the Lady Rangers.
So nice to see you play the game that we all know that you can play! Better coverage, better passes and better “hitting the net” make all the difference. The round of applause was well earned!
