It is with a heavy heart that KMHA announces the passing of Wayne Barnard
It is with the heaviest of hearts that KMHA announces the passing of Wayne Barnard a KMHA coach, father and friend.

All of KMHA express their collective sadness at the passing of Wayne an active volunteer and mentor in the KMHA system.  His smile and friendship will be remembered across all of our programs.

Wayne Charles Barnard Obituary

Passed away, surrounded by family on May 15, 2025 at Grand River Hospital, in Kitchener, ON at the age of 54.

Beloved husband of Paige. Cherished father of Lianna (Harry), Melanie (Allen), Lucas, and Cole. Loving Pop Pops of Andrew. Proud son of Brian and Lynda. Dear brother of Marsha (Chris). Son-in-law of Ruud and Carolyn. Brother-in-law of Ashley (Linda) and Meagen (Greg). Uncle of Emily, Thomas, Aidan, Audrey, Nolan, James, Alexander, Kara, and Hudson. Lifelong best friend of Rob (Kelly) and "uncle" to Brandon and Ashley.

Wayne's presence will also be deeply missed by his extended family and countless friends who were like family to him.

Wayne built a 30-year career, starting out as an Ironworker. He poured pride and precision into every project, earning the respect of everyone on the job site. His dedication, leadership and natural ability to connect with people ultimately led him to become the Vice President of Roberts Onsite Inc., a role he carried with integrity and heart. He was someone who people could turn to for advice, support or simply a good laugh.

But no title meant more to him than Coach or Dad. Wayne was most proud of the life he built with his family, who meant everything to him. Whether behind the bench at his kids' hockey games or sharing jokes at family gatherings, he truly was the life of the party, a positive force, and someone everyone admired.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Nik, Dr. Dai, Dr. Evans, Dr. Kuk and all the staff at Cambridge Memorial Hospital and the Grand River Cancer Centre.

Wayne's family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00-8:00 PM, on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Memorial Service will be held at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 10:30 AM. A reception will follow.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Donna's Kids  or the Grand River Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
