Important Update: U12AAA 2025-2026 Evaluations & OHF Guidelines
With the new OHF “open borders” guidelines now in effect, our upcoming tryouts may feel a little different than in past years. We intend to move quickly during the first few days of evaluations to assemble the most competitive team possible for the 2025-26 season.

IMPORTANT for Parents:

Please be aware of the new process implemented by the OHF:

  • Only players who are officially registered for evaluations will be eligible to receive an offer to join the team.
  • Offers will be communicated directly via email from the coach to the parent.
  • These offers may include a time limit for acceptance.
  • Official offers can begin to be sent starting at 12:01 AM on Saturday, April 19th (no earlier).

If your child is interested in playing for the Kitchener Jr. Rangers U12 AAA team this upcoming season, they must be registered for evaluations in order to go on the ice and be considered for a spot on the team.

Lastly, all communications will be shared through our team website going forward. With the new OHF rules and players coming and going due to "open borders", there will be no opportunity for in person releases any longer.

If your tryout ID # is not displayed as moving forward, we wish each athlete a great season with their new team! Final decisions will be difficult. If you would appreciate feedback, please feel free to reach out following the completion of team selection and our Coaches will do their best to share our staff assessment for opportunities of player growth. Our goal is always to help players at all levels develop and we will do our best to remain transparent and assist players with areas of focus for continued success.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we navigate these changes and work to form a strong team for the season ahead.

Timbits
The Timbits Minor Sports Program is a community-oriented sponsorship program for children four to eight years old who participate in local house league sports teams. The program's philosophy is not based on winning or losing - but on learning a new sport, making new friends, and just taking time out to be a kid. Tim Hortons currently sponsors over 200,000 children who play on hockey, soccer, lacrosse, t-ball, baseball and ringette teams across Canada and in the United States. Each sponsored team is supplied with Timbits Minor Sports jerseys or T-shirts. Timbits hockey teams are often given the opportunity to play on-ice scrimmages during intermissions at Junior, American Hockey League (AHL) and National Hockey League (NHL) games and do so with our own KITCHENER JR. A RANGERS. Tim Horton's once again sponsor's our 40 entry level HL teams this year.
Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada
Our friends at Toyota continue to support Kitchener Minor Hockey by returning as a House League Gold Sponsor yet again for this season. Toyota also sponsors the Toyota Challenge featuring teams from the region in competition and the opportunity to travel to Japan. The Toyota Hockey Challenge consists of round robin competition amongst top Kitchener, Waterloo & Cambridge teams, with the top two teams then competing in a one-game show down that will determine the team to represent the Tri-Cities in a once-in-a-lifetime cultural exchange to Japan. The team that wins the Toyota Hockey Challenge will travel to Hokkaido, Japan during March Break for a cultural exchange with the Tomakomai Allstars, all expenses paid by TMMC. Thanks Toyota!
