What to expect during evaluations.
Below is an outline of what to expect for the first 2 days of evaluations;

Day One (Part 1)- Due to the number of registered players, we will begin with 2, one and a half hour sessions of "skills/flow and compete drills" in order to provide each player with an opportunity to showcase their talent. These sessions will be run by Tony Code and his staff.

Along with passing, shooting, skating/edge work, the coaching staff will be looking for a high level of compete, hockey IQ and overall confidence with the puck. These sessions will help the staff identify well-rounded players capable of playing at a AAA level next season.

Day One (Part 2)- The second part of our Day 1 will conclude with 2 intrasquad games later in the day. We will post on the team website letting players know if they are moving on in the process and playing that night. We may also have new players that just registered join the games.

Sunday April 20th – The group with be further reduced to a much smaller number of athletes competing for final roster spots. As of today, we will have 2 intrasquad games. Depending on numbers, we may only need to have 1 game. This format also allows our Coaches to participate closely by working on the bench in order to witness first-hand how players respond to instruction, as well as their overall behaviour, compete level and positivity toward their potential teammates.

The coaching staff is excited to get the process started. See you April 19th.

Sponsors
Sun Life Kids In Gear
Donna's Kids is pleased to partner again for 2019/2020 season with Sun Life and their Kids In Gear program. Kitchener Minor Hockey Association, as part of their mandate, provides financial support for children in this community who, without our assistance, would not be afforded the opportunity to participate in organized hockey in the City of Kitchener. Monies for this cause have been donated by various individuals and organizations over the years, however with increasing demands we have the need to provide further support for this program. One hundred per cent of the funds raised by KIDS IN GEAR are channelled directly to purchase equipment for children.
Timbits
The Timbits Minor Sports Program is a community-oriented sponsorship program for children four to eight years old who participate in local house league sports teams. The program's philosophy is not based on winning or losing - but on learning a new sport, making new friends, and just taking time out to be a kid. Tim Hortons currently sponsors over 200,000 children who play on hockey, soccer, lacrosse, t-ball, baseball and ringette teams across Canada and in the United States. Each sponsored team is supplied with Timbits Minor Sports jerseys or T-shirts. Timbits hockey teams are often given the opportunity to play on-ice scrimmages during intermissions at Junior, American Hockey League (AHL) and National Hockey League (NHL) games and do so with our own KITCHENER JR. A RANGERS. Tim Horton's once again sponsor's our 40 entry level HL teams this year.

Toyota also sponsors the Toyota Challenge featuring teams from the region in competition and the opportunity to travel to Japan. The Toyota Hockey Challenge consists of round robin competition amongst top Kitchener, Waterloo & Cambridge teams, with the top two teams then competing in a one-game show down that will determine the team to represent the Tri-Cities in a once-in-a-lifetime cultural exchange to Japan. The team that wins the Toyota Hockey Challenge will travel to Hokkaido, Japan during March Break for a cultural exchange with the Tomakomai Allstars, all expenses paid by TMMC. Thanks Toyota!
