Tryouts 2025-2026
The Kitchener U16AAA Junior Rangers are looking forward to a rewarding season ahead which starts the week of April 21st at Tryouts.

The schedule for tryouts is posted here on our webpage. We will play intersquad games Monday and Tuesday followed by a series of exhibition games at home and on the road.

THE PROGRAM

We expect a high level of commitment from the players. We aim to help them be more confident, skilled, physically stronger and tactically sound. We will be looking for good teammates who enjoy being students of the game and be the best player they can be. Creating the right culture is very important to our program. We believer the team is a family, and a family first mentality is what we promote including respect for each other and the game we play.

Our staff is tough but fair and if the players are willing to put in the work and buy in to the program, they will be successful.

Things to remember for tryouts:

·       Please arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to ice sessions

·       Register in the lobby to receive a pinny and tryout number – this number will be yours throughout camp. Pinnies are to be hung up in the room after each skate. Players moving forward in camp will see their numbers posted online KMHA U16AAA WEBSITE.

·       Exhibition game line ups will be posted online as well

·       Players are reminded to bring proper off-ice attire (running shoes/shorts)

·       Players will warm up as a group

·       Players are to double check equipment making sure they are prepared and ready to play

·       Players are expected to report all injuries prior and post ice sessions to athletic staff

Looking forward to a competitive training camp!

Sponsors
Scotiabank
Scotiabank returns as a PLATINUM LEVEL SPONSOR for yet another season. They have five Kitchener branches to serve you. Last season, local Scotiabank managers were instrumental in arranging to feature our Peewee Bisons on Hockey Night in Canada! Thanks Scotiabank!
McDonald's Restaurants
KMHA is proud to have McDonald's Canada in our stable of sponsors. This year, McDonald's is once again sponsoring our entire Boys Atom divions under their intiative, atoMc Hockey. Last Season, one of our Atom Teams was awarded lunch and a day with Stanley Cup Champion Drew Doughty of Los Angeles Kings!! Thanks McDonald's!
Sun Life Kids In Gear
Donna's Kids is pleased to partner again for 2019/2020 season with Sun Life and their Kids In Gear program. Kitchener Minor Hockey Association, as part of their mandate, provides financial support for children in this community who, without our assistance, would not be afforded the opportunity to participate in organized hockey in the City of Kitchener. Monies for this cause have been donated by various individuals and organizations over the years, however with increasing demands we have the need to provide further support for this program. One hundred per cent of the funds raised by KIDS IN GEAR are channelled directly to purchase equipment for children.
Timbits
The Timbits Minor Sports Program is a community-oriented sponsorship program for children four to eight years old who participate in local house league sports teams. The program's philosophy is not based on winning or losing - but on learning a new sport, making new friends, and just taking time out to be a kid. Tim Hortons currently sponsors over 200,000 children who play on hockey, soccer, lacrosse, t-ball, baseball and ringette teams across Canada and in the United States. Each sponsored team is supplied with Timbits Minor Sports jerseys or T-shirts. Timbits hockey teams are often given the opportunity to play on-ice scrimmages during intermissions at Junior, American Hockey League (AHL) and National Hockey League (NHL) games and do so with our own KITCHENER JR. A RANGERS. Tim Horton's once again sponsor's our 40 entry level HL teams this year.
Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada
Our friends at Toyota continue to support Kitchener Minor Hockey by returning as a House League Gold Sponsor yet again for this season. Toyota also sponsors the Toyota Challenge featuring teams from the region in competition and the opportunity to travel to Japan. The Toyota Hockey Challenge consists of round robin competition amongst top Kitchener, Waterloo & Cambridge teams, with the top two teams then competing in a one-game show down that will determine the team to represent the Tri-Cities in a once-in-a-lifetime cultural exchange to Japan. The team that wins the Toyota Hockey Challenge will travel to Hokkaido, Japan during March Break for a cultural exchange with the Tomakomai Allstars, all expenses paid by TMMC. Thanks Toyota!
