Important Tryout Update
There have been some changes to the format of the U18AAA tryout for Monday April 21st.

We are excited to announce that we currently have 16 goalies registered to attend our try outs. To be fair, and ensure we have an opportunity to see all goalies, the first 30 minutes of tryouts will be goalies only. During this time the objective will be to focus on goalie skating and basic goaltending skills.

With 16 goalies registered and no guarantee of further ice times we are offering GOALIES ONLY the ability to withdraw from try outs now if you wish.  If you withdraw prior to 8 pm Sunday, KMHA will provide a full refund for the try outs. The competition for spots is fierce and we know now we will not be able to give everyone time to play in a game. If you participate in any portion of the try out there are no refunds as per the normal KMHA refund policy.

This large number of goalies is due to the new OHF rules this year around open borders. Please see below for important information on the format for Monday April 21st.

Goalie Clinic will be run by Forrest Goaltending Consultant.

  •        8:00 – 8:30: ALL registered goalies will be on the ice for a goalie clinic with shooters (Junior B players)
  •        After this clinic, 6 - 8 goalies will be selected to move on to the tryout which will take place from 8:30 – 10:30

Thank you for your interest in our program and good luck in the tryouts!

Timbits
The Timbits Minor Sports Program is a community-oriented sponsorship program for children four to eight years old who participate in local house league sports teams. The program's philosophy is not based on winning or losing - but on learning a new sport, making new friends, and just taking time out to be a kid. Tim Hortons currently sponsors over 200,000 children who play on hockey, soccer, lacrosse, t-ball, baseball and ringette teams across Canada and in the United States. Each sponsored team is supplied with Timbits Minor Sports jerseys or T-shirts. Timbits hockey teams are often given the opportunity to play on-ice scrimmages during intermissions at Junior, American Hockey League (AHL) and National Hockey League (NHL) games and do so with our own KITCHENER JR. A RANGERS. Tim Horton's once again sponsor's our 40 entry level HL teams this year.
Sun Life Kids In Gear
Donna's Kids is pleased to partner again for 2019/2020 season with Sun Life and their Kids In Gear program. Kitchener Minor Hockey Association, as part of their mandate, provides financial support for children in this community who, without our assistance, would not be afforded the opportunity to participate in organized hockey in the City of Kitchener. Monies for this cause have been donated by various individuals and organizations over the years, however with increasing demands we have the need to provide further support for this program. One hundred per cent of the funds raised by KIDS IN GEAR are channelled directly to purchase equipment for children.
