Welcome to the U14AA Seeded Team
Thank you for your interest in the U14AA Seeded team and attending the player evaluations starting on Monday April 28th.
The coaching staff for the U14 AA team is extremely excited to get started.

Our coaching philosophy is based on ensuring that all members of the team experience enjoyment and excitement while competing on and off the ice. While emphasis is placed on developing both player’s hockey skills and personal enrichment, we will also be focusing on the process of competition, dealing with the psychology both winning and losing and the requirements necessary to be successful in this process. Our focus will be on work ethic, fair play, and teamwork, while maintaining a passion for the game of hockey. We intend to incorporate the lessons that we have learned over our many years of playing and coaching hockey.

The game of hockey is constantly evolving. The coaching staff has to evolve our strategies, tactics, and development season planning in order to keep pace with an every changing game. The coaching staff has accumulated120 years of coaching and playing experience, including experience at the junior, university and AAA and AA levels.

This upcoming season we will continue to have sessions with Heroic Minds, enriching player mental health development. We will have professional dryland training weekly sessions, team structure and skills including video sessions at Queensmount arena. We will continue to have power skating and edge work development, professional goalie development in addition to our regular goalie coach. All of these development tools will be aimed at player and team growth.

Please be assured that we will be seeking to play more challenging competitors, stressing a fast pace of play, team passing and player/team non-puck on ice positioning.

Strong emphasis will be placed on positive reinforcement and team building, while having fun, making new friends on the ice and in the dressing room.  Demands will be placed on each player to work hard, play well & clean competitive hockey, and consistently give their best effort.  Our goal of improving individual player’s skill, and improving team play etc. will not only produce better hockey players, but better future community-minded citizens.

This is a journey for both the players and the coaching staff, and the goal is to improve not only every player but each coach as well by the end of the season.

Our team calendar will include lots of team building activities, scheduled practices, extra practice times, exhibition games, dryland training, power skating and exciting tournaments.  The tournaments for this upcoming season are the Hespeler Shamrocks Early Bird, a trip to the Capital Fall Classic in Ottawa, the Waterloo Memorial Tournament, the Toronto Aero's Winter Challenge and The South Simcoe Storm Classic.

The coaching staff would like to mention that we are not just looking at talent during these player evaluations. We are looking at those players that are hard workers in practice, show altruistic behavior, have great attitudes, give relentless effort, listen well and possess a never give up mind set. Also, we are looking for great teammates both on and off the ice, and players that are committed to team play and team accomplishments over individual rewards.

Further details regarding the U14AA evaluations will be posted on this web page closer to the starting date of April 28th.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing everyone at evaluations!

Randy

Sponsors
Timbits
The Timbits Minor Sports Program is a community-oriented sponsorship program for children four to eight years old who participate in local house league sports teams. The program's philosophy is not based on winning or losing - but on learning a new sport, making new friends, and just taking time out to be a kid. Tim Hortons currently sponsors over 200,000 children who play on hockey, soccer, lacrosse, t-ball, baseball and ringette teams across Canada and in the United States. Each sponsored team is supplied with Timbits Minor Sports jerseys or T-shirts. Timbits hockey teams are often given the opportunity to play on-ice scrimmages during intermissions at Junior, American Hockey League (AHL) and National Hockey League (NHL) games and do so with our own KITCHENER JR. A RANGERS. Tim Horton's once again sponsor's our 40 entry level HL teams this year.
The Kitchener Rangers
Our hometown heros, The Kitchener Rangers, return for the 19th year as the official sponsor of ALL of KMHA's Lady Ranger & Jr. Ranger teams! Thanks for your support & LET'S GO RANGERS! Through a partnership agreement with Sunlife of Canada, the Rangers also support DONNA'S KIDS through their KIDS IN GEAR CAMPAIGN!
Sun Life Kids In Gear
Donna's Kids is pleased to partner again for 2019/2020 season with Sun Life and their Kids In Gear program. Kitchener Minor Hockey Association, as part of their mandate, provides financial support for children in this community who, without our assistance, would not be afforded the opportunity to participate in organized hockey in the City of Kitchener. Monies for this cause have been donated by various individuals and organizations over the years, however with increasing demands we have the need to provide further support for this program. One hundred per cent of the funds raised by KIDS IN GEAR are channelled directly to purchase equipment for children.
Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada
Our friends at Toyota continue to support Kitchener Minor Hockey by returning as a House League Gold Sponsor yet again for this season. Toyota also sponsors the Toyota Challenge featuring teams from the region in competition and the opportunity to travel to Japan. The Toyota Hockey Challenge consists of round robin competition amongst top Kitchener, Waterloo & Cambridge teams, with the top two teams then competing in a one-game show down that will determine the team to represent the Tri-Cities in a once-in-a-lifetime cultural exchange to Japan. The team that wins the Toyota Hockey Challenge will travel to Hokkaido, Japan during March Break for a cultural exchange with the Tomakomai Allstars, all expenses paid by TMMC. Thanks Toyota!
