KJR U15 AA/A Capture Preseason Challenge Championship!
The Kitchener Jr Rangers U15 Seeded team capped off a successful weekend with a championship win at the 2025 Preseason Challenge, hosted by the Belle River District Minor Hockey Association from September 19–21.

The group went a perfect 6–0, including a 4–1 win in the championship final over the Talbot Trail Blazers.

Kitchener’s success was built on hard work, discipline, and a true team-first mentality. All players contributed — whether on the scoresheet, in shot blocking, forechecking, strong goaltending, or supporting each other on the bench.

The team allowed only three goals against across all six games, while showing consistency and composure in each outing.

The Jr Rangers started the tournament with four round-robin wins over Pelham (8-0), Strathroy (8-1), Tri Centre (10-0), and Southeast (4-0).

They followed that up with a solid semifinal win in a rematch against Strathroy (5-1) before moving on to the final.

In the championship game, the team played with poise, using their structure and depth to earn a 4–1 win over the Talbot Trail Blazers to close out a great weekend of hockey.

Congratulations to all players, coaches, and families involved. The tournament title reflects not only the talent on this team, but also the dedication and commitment the players bring every day.

We’re proud of how this group represented KMHA, both on and off the ice, and look forward to the season ahead!

Scotiabank
Scotiabank returns as a PLATINUM LEVEL SPONSOR for yet another season. They have five Kitchener branches to serve you. Last season, local Scotiabank managers were instrumental in arranging to feature our Peewee Bisons on Hockey Night in Canada! Thanks Scotiabank!
Timbits
The Timbits Minor Sports Program is a community-oriented sponsorship program for children four to eight years old who participate in local house league sports teams. The program's philosophy is not based on winning or losing - but on learning a new sport, making new friends, and just taking time out to be a kid. Tim Hortons currently sponsors over 200,000 children who play on hockey, soccer, lacrosse, t-ball, baseball and ringette teams across Canada and in the United States. Each sponsored team is supplied with Timbits Minor Sports jerseys or T-shirts. Timbits hockey teams are often given the opportunity to play on-ice scrimmages during intermissions at Junior, American Hockey League (AHL) and National Hockey League (NHL) games and do so with our own KITCHENER JR. A RANGERS. Tim Horton's once again sponsor's our 40 entry level HL teams this year.
Sun Life Kids In Gear
Donna's Kids is pleased to partner again for 2019/2020 season with Sun Life and their Kids In Gear program. Kitchener Minor Hockey Association, as part of their mandate, provides financial support for children in this community who, without our assistance, would not be afforded the opportunity to participate in organized hockey in the City of Kitchener. Monies for this cause have been donated by various individuals and organizations over the years, however with increasing demands we have the need to provide further support for this program. One hundred per cent of the funds raised by KIDS IN GEAR are channelled directly to purchase equipment for children.
McDonald's Restaurants
KMHA is proud to have McDonald's Canada in our stable of sponsors. This year, McDonald's is once again sponsoring our entire Boys Atom divions under their intiative, atoMc Hockey. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada
Our friends at Toyota continue to support Kitchener Minor Hockey by returning as a House League Gold Sponsor yet again for this season. Toyota also sponsors the Toyota Challenge featuring teams from the region in competition and the opportunity to travel to Japan. The Toyota Hockey Challenge consists of round robin competition amongst top Kitchener, Waterloo & Cambridge teams, with the top two teams then competing in a one-game show down that will determine the team to represent the Tri-Cities in a once-in-a-lifetime cultural exchange to Japan. The team that wins the Toyota Hockey Challenge will travel to Hokkaido, Japan during March Break for a cultural exchange with the Tomakomai Allstars, all expenses paid by TMMC. Thanks Toyota!
