U10 BB Blue team bring home medals from Melanie Clancy Memorial Tournament in Peterborough

The U10 BB Blue team had a great showing at the Melanie Clancy Memorial in Peterborough this past weekend reaching the finals and earning silver medals.

The Jr. Rangers finished the preliminary round tied for the top seed with a strong record of 3 wins and 1 loss.

In those four preliminary round games, the Jr. Rangers gave up only three goals in total and had a goals for percentage of 78.57 (each tournament bests).

A commitment to strong team defense and outstanding performances by goalies Lincoln Kaster and Riley Black (who each posted shutouts) led the team to their first tournament finals of the year against the U10 BB Barrie Jr. Colts.

In the finals, the Jr. Rangers were up 2-0 after the first period and 3-2 after the second period before falling just short in a 5-4 loss. It was the Jr. Rangers second game of the day, after playing their final preliminary round game earlier that same morning at 7:45am. The Jr. Colts on the other hand had a full day between their final preliminary round game and the championship.

Next up, the Jr. Rangers visit the U10 BB Burlington Bulldogs Red team on February 8 and then host the U10 BB Sarnia Jr. Sting on February 15 before heading to London to participate in their next tournament – the Doug Jarrett Memorial Tournament – from February 20 to 22.

    Let’s go Rangers, let’s go!
