Gold Medal Winners!
The team returned home from Montreal this past week as gold
medalists!
Looking for a challenge, our Jr Rangers stepped up a division and took on U15s at the Can-Am Cup. The team ran the table with wins against Mississauga, Clarington, and South Simcoe before coming out on top with an overtime victory versus the Blackburn Stingers in the final on a goal by Liam Lautenslager, beautifully setup by Johnny Bobbato. The team was led by outstanding goaltending by Quinton Sweeney who made several big saves to keep the Rangers in the game. After two difficult finals losses in overtime and a shootout in the previous two tournaments, the player dug deep and came out as Champions for a second time this season!
Honourable mentions go out to Eitan Tsarfati and William McCowan whom represented the team very well in the shootout competition, and to Johnny Bobbato, Gerard Robitaille, Colton Oldfield, and Frankie McNamara who brought home top spot in the relay event in the skills competition on day two.
The team truly came together and played as a unit all weekend. Way to go U14 Jr Red Rangers!
