U15 BB/B – RED Update Ep 1
Read on to learn more about the composition of our team, our first social, and a chance to meet the coaches and team chat.

Good afternoon Ranger Families!

Welcome to your first newsletter for the U15 BB/B Red team.  We use this as a means to connect with parents and share information about upcoming schedule additions, events, and other news worthy topics.

U15 BB/B RED PLAYERS

First off, congratulations to the 17 athletes who were selected for the U15 BB/B Red team for the ‘25/’26 season.  The players were chosen to put together the best ‘team’ oriented squad we could possibly assemble.  There may have been better individually skilled players, but we chose based on hard work, determination and the team game each player showcased.  In our years of experience, these traits are what make for a great experience both on and off the ice.

SATURDAY PRACTICE CANCELLED

Happy Mother’s Day!   It’s been a hectic (and stressful) two weeks for players, parents and coaches.  As much as it would be cool to jump back on the ice, families are terribly busy this time of year.  Please enjoy the time back and enjoy a peaceful Mother’s Day weekend.

COACHES

We had a chance to quickly introduce ourselves at the huddle before the last tryout.  Here’s your coaching squad for next season:

Asst Coach

PLAYER/PARENT SOCIAL

We have organized a quick player/parent social.  We thought it was a great way for the players to get connected before the summer break.  We have chosen Saturday June 7, from 3pm-5pm at Peak Fitness in St Agatha.   We’ll organize some ice breakers for the players, a game of volleyball followed by a pot luck to socialize a bit.  We’ll get a potluck sign-up into the team chat to make sure we have some snacks.

We’ll also try and get the sizing jerseys to select our numbers and jersey sizes for next year.  So bring your shoulder pads / elbow pads if you want an accurate fit.

TELEGRAM

We’ve set up a team Telegram chat group for coaches to send time sensitive messages and for parents to stay connected.  Please reach out if you have not been added, or wish to add more family members to the group.

That’s it for now.  See you in a few weeks.  It is 118 days until the start of the regular season.  Not that I’m counting or anything…

Sponsors
Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada
Our friends at Toyota continue to support Kitchener Minor Hockey by returning as a House League Gold Sponsor yet again for this season. Toyota also sponsors the Toyota Challenge featuring teams from the region in competition and the opportunity to travel to Japan. The Toyota Hockey Challenge consists of round robin competition amongst top Kitchener, Waterloo & Cambridge teams, with the top two teams then competing in a one-game show down that will determine the team to represent the Tri-Cities in a once-in-a-lifetime cultural exchange to Japan. The team that wins the Toyota Hockey Challenge will travel to Hokkaido, Japan during March Break for a cultural exchange with the Tomakomai Allstars, all expenses paid by TMMC. Thanks Toyota!
Sun Life Kids In Gear
Donna's Kids is pleased to partner again for 2019/2020 season with Sun Life and their Kids In Gear program. Kitchener Minor Hockey Association, as part of their mandate, provides financial support for children in this community who, without our assistance, would not be afforded the opportunity to participate in organized hockey in the City of Kitchener. Monies for this cause have been donated by various individuals and organizations over the years, however with increasing demands we have the need to provide further support for this program. One hundred per cent of the funds raised by KIDS IN GEAR are channelled directly to purchase equipment for children.
Desjardins Insurance
Proud Sponsors of youth Hockey, Desjardins Insurance is the insurance unit of Desjardins Group, the largest association of credit unions in Canada. Desjardins Insurance has two principal subsidiaries: Desjardins Financial Security and Desjardins General Insurance.
Timbits
The Timbits Minor Sports Program is a community-oriented sponsorship program for children four to eight years old who participate in local house league sports teams. The program's philosophy is not based on winning or losing - but on learning a new sport, making new friends, and just taking time out to be a kid. Tim Hortons currently sponsors over 200,000 children who play on hockey, soccer, lacrosse, t-ball, baseball and ringette teams across Canada and in the United States. Each sponsored team is supplied with Timbits Minor Sports jerseys or T-shirts. Timbits hockey teams are often given the opportunity to play on-ice scrimmages during intermissions at Junior, American Hockey League (AHL) and National Hockey League (NHL) games and do so with our own KITCHENER JR. A RANGERS. Tim Horton's once again sponsor's our 40 entry level HL teams this year.
McDonald's Restaurants
