Home with the Wild
For the second time in just over a week, the Kitchener Lady Rangers U18 “A’s” welcomed the Woolwich Wild for their second and final meeting of the regular season.
The Lady’s opened strong in the first period and were rewarded just over two minutes in on a beautiful 2 v. 1 pass for the game’s opening goal. Five minutes later, the Lady’s capitalizing on their first power play of the game going up by two heading into the second. Penalty trouble of their own in the second period had the Wild handily out-shooting the Lady’s who managed to persevere on one of their few shots from a great F1 to F3 pass. A slow and sloppy third had the Wild again out-shooting and out chancing the Lady’s who managed to hang on for the W.
“Awareness” is key during every shift throughout the game. The “WTF” moment in the second when you gave up a 5 v. 0 was pretty “unbelievable”. Constant scanning and keeping your head on a swivel are key. It was a heck of a way to welcome Ms. Bellew back between the pipes!
