South Huron Saturday
The Lady’s travelled to Exeter to face the South Huron Sabres in their first meeting of the season.
Weathering a storm in the first five minutes of play, the Lady’s settled in and capitalized on a nice “F1 low weak-side shot rebound to F2” to open the scoring. With just over two minutes left in the first, a wide zone entry drive beat both the D and the goalie (who would like to have that one back) to tie things up at one. Missed coverage put the Sabres up mid-way through the second before another F1 low shot rebound to F2 tied things heading into the break. With just four minutes remaining in the third, another wide drive would put the Sabres up by one before solidifying the “W” with a last second empty netter.
We will continue to discuss and focus on the momentary lapses that have you giving away weekend points. After the first five minutes of the first, you settled in, made adjustments, and played a solid game of hockey. Although no game will be “perfect”, good teams will make you pay for your mistakes. South Huron is a good team who made you pay. There was lots of good this evening. Chin up and remember exactly when it is that you have to win the next game. Keep working ladies. Good things will come.
