Waterloo Wednesday
The Lady’s welcomed the Waterloo Ravens on a rare Wednesday night game for their second meeting of the season.
A good start by both sides had shots and opportunities almost even after the first. Early in the second, a great stretch pass (why do we practice) put the Lady’s up by one. Midway through the second, some power play patience, with a great back door look (why do we practice), gave the Lady’s their second of the game before a late period corner pass put the Lady’s up by three. The period wasn’t quite finished with back-to-back penalties giving the Ravens a prolonged 5 v. 3. Some key PK by all involved kept the Lady’s up by three heading into the break. A smart third ensured the “W” and the first “two” of “six” available points in this week’s games.
We do practice for a reason. Although every drill is stolen, borrowed or otherwise obtained from “someone” else, they all serve game application purposes. It was nice to see you work on the things that we have practiced and even nicer that you were rewarded for it. Congratulations on two well-deserved points.
