Start the Car
Like the scene from a former IKEA commercial, the coaching staff felt like we should have “started our cars” with a steal of two points in the last meeting of the season with the Roadrunners.
Although we understand that their maybe some adjustment from a practice night to a game night, the importance of “good habits” should not be lost. From missed DZ coverage, to letting players get behind you, to not “wanting” the puck, to looking tired, to three breakaways, the game just seemed disjointed. We appreciated the efforts offensively (nice pass, chip and snipe and nice pass and deek) and defensively, (although the DZ give away was tough, the stopping of all three breakaways was amazing - how are we giving these up again?) but the overall team play was less than expected at this time of the season. Whatever you did pre-game today, please do not do for this weekend’s games.
