Five Days Before Christmas
Five days before Christmas was all they could think,
And they all seemed to forget why they came to the rink.
Talking pre-game, the coaches all said,
Please get the “sugar cookies” out of your head.
You must come to play, good effort and try,
But all they could think was if Reindeer could fly!
Down by “one” with a period to go,
The power play set up was buried in snow.
Constant reminders, there were more than a few
But the staff kept wondering how they are getting behind you.
Talent, they say, we have a lot,
But without more attention to detail, it will all be for not.
A good first pass, heck maybe two,
Will be what we need to carry us through.
And I heard him say as he road out of sight,
“Keep an F3 and you’ll be alright!”
