South Huron Sunday
In their final meeting or the regular season, the Lady Rangers welcomed the South Huron Sabres for game #21.
An unfortunate missed F3 assignment had the Sabres executing perfectly on a 2 v. 1 for the first goal of the game just over a minute thirty in. Some tenacious net front play had the Lady’s evening things up just three minutes later. With little power play set up, the Lady’s “watched” a nice end to end rush by the Sabres (we must pressure the puck carrier) who took a 2 – 1 lead into the third. Despite out shooting and out chancing the Sabres in the third, a late empty netter would solidify South Huron’s “W” and first place overall in the Central West’s regular season.
If you consistently take care of the little things (keeping an F3, being hard on the puck) the game will tend to take care of itself. Are we disappointed in the loss, yes. Is this the time you must win, no. Commit to working hard on the little things in practice (can I add hitting the net here please) so we can be confident in taking care of the games when they really count.
Congratulations to South Huron on their first place regular season divisional finish.
