U18B Kitchener Lady Rangers Strike Gold in Orillia
The U18B Kitchener Lady Rangers opened their season in championship style, bringing home the gold medal at the Orillia Hawks Early Bird Tournament this past weekend.

The girls battled hard throughout the weekend, earning four wins and just one loss on their way to the finals. The championship game against the Stittsville Rockets was an edge-of-your-seat thriller, pushing into a 5-minute overtime period before being decided in a shootout where the Lady Rangers came out on top.

This victory carried an even deeper meaning for the team, as they played with heavy hearts in support of their teammate Ali, who had to say goodbye to her mom this weekend. Ali, you were in all our hearts.

The coaching staff extends their thanks to all the players for their tremendous effort and teamwork, and to the families and fans who came to support the girls this weekend.

Congratulations, Lady Rangers, we look forward to an incredible season ahead!

The Timbits Minor Sports Program is a community-oriented sponsorship program for children four to eight years old who participate in local house league sports teams. The program's philosophy is not based on winning or losing - but on learning a new sport, making new friends, and just taking time out to be a kid. The Toyota Hockey Challenge consists of round robin competition amongst top Kitchener, Waterloo & Cambridge teams, with the top two teams then competing in a one-game show down that will determine the team to represent the Tri-Cities in a once-in-a-lifetime cultural exchange to Japan.
