what's the significance of 7 - 11 and today's game?
Well, for starters, 7 goals were scored by the Generals today! All I can say is “Wow!” I don't think that's happened this year yet. Way to go Dawson on scoring 5 of them! Let's make no mistake though, this win was totally a team effort. All of the mighty Generals contributed to today's success. We have demonstrated in the last few games that we are dominating in the opposition's end and keeping the puck firmly in their end. Our defence is manning the blue line with surgical precision, and Sammy & Ethan are standing on their heads when they have to.
Secondly, we now have 7 regular season wins! This is the first time in the season that we have more wins than losses. Our stats are 7 wins & 6 losses, and if we keep it up we will be a formidable opponent to any team in our league.
7 is also the number of hours I have slept since Thursday.
So, what's going on with 11?
Well, $11 is what we made on our 50 – 50 draw today. It sure doesn't sound like much, but that will buy 2 Little Caesars pizzas. It all adds up; week after week, if we keep doing a draw, we can have a nice party at the end of the season, or maybe another exhibition game against those surly Waterloo Pillers. So, keep bringing your toonies and cheering on our ever-improving, always exciting, edge-of-your-seat Generals.
