Goaltending Nets Win for Blue
Solid goaltending made the difference today as the AtoMcBlue "Bombers" recorded their first win of the young season.
Karl set the tone in goal early with some big saves that seemed to energize the team. Scott opened the scoring midway through the first period, assisted by Hunter, and the team never looked back.
Late in the second Wesley and Carter (assisted by Jakob) put us ahead 3-0 and Nolan shut the White side out with some monster saves through the third period!
Both goalies deserve huge credit for the shutout on a team that had surrendered seventeen goals against in their previous three games! A slightly retooled defense played solidly most of the game, and forwards were working hard to back check. This is a major improvement over last week when the team looked flat and undisciplined. Hard work and hustle always win the day!
