The opening day roster has been set for the 2011/2012 Kitchener Lady Ranger Novice ‘A’ Team.

After countless hours and many sleepless nights, Coach Cam and his diligent staff have selected the Girls who will represent our fair city in the Lower Lake Female Hockey League’s Western Novice ‘A’ Division, which also features the Burlington Barracudas, Waterloo Ravens, Oakville Hornets and London Devilettes. With only four returning Ladies from last year’s Novice team, Ranger officials were astounded and the skill and passion the dozen rookies have shown so far.

“Early reports are showing a very fast, very aggressive team” stated an unidentified team official.

If recent practices are any indication, it would appear that the three forward lines are centered by experienced and weathered returnees, Mad Dog, Smokey and MoPete, while KK’s Blue Line Barricade anchors a solid defensive core. This new defensive group features twin sisters Allison and Amanda, as well as other rookies Victoria, Hannah and Aria. All these young ladies have been charged with keeping the puck from their ends blue crease that the Press has dubbed “Krista’s Kastle.” With a wonderful grin, Ranger Net Minder Krista guards her goal with a passion and determination, focus and drive that excites the Coaching Staff. “We have nicknamed the arena The Kingdom of Krista.” Jested an Arena Attendant.

New players up front this year feature top talent from the KMHA development system. Six new wingers have been added to this year’s team, Sophia, Jessica, Paige, Isabella, Olivia and Sydney are all expected and more than willing to add a terrific and powerful scoring punch.

This year’s Kitchener Novice team is facing a new and exciting challenge after being promoted to the ‘A’ pool after continued success in a ‘B’ Loop. No easy task and not one this courageous pack of Warriors are not willing to attack head on. The Rangers will open the season October 22nd at the Skyway arena in Burlington before traveling to London the following day, their Home Opener is the Weekend of the 29th versus the Hornets from Oakville. Anyone wishing to attend Opening Day is warned to arrive early as space is always limited in “The Kingdom of Krista.”

Congratulations to all the girls of your 2011/2012 Kitchener Lady Rangers Novice ‘A’ Squad.
