It was a Thursday night departure for Motown to ensure a wakeup for our 7:30am game  with Markham Stoffville, salvaging a 2-2 tie with our Atom A East division rivals. Friday afternoon we met the Whitby Wolves, another East division rival losing a hard fought battle 1-0. Another Saturday early morning, our hotel roommates the Buffalo Bisons hosted us playing to a 1-1 tie at Dearborn Ice Skating Centre, Michigan.
A return visit with the Whitby Wolves in the semi final had our Lady Rangers play hard in a 2-1 loss to the eventual tournament winners. With a few bumps and bruises, we came home playing defensive hockey with superb goal tending and a new focus of putting the puck in the net.

The Kitchener Oktoberfest tournament included approximately 60 teams, including 9 girls teams this year. Our Lady Rangers once again stepped up being one of the only two Kitchener teams to reach the Atom championship finals. A convincing opening 4-0 win against Mississauga, a disappointing 4-0 lose to Windsor, and a 2-1 win against London brought us to the semi finals.
A determined effort and solid goaltending in our semi final provided a 3-1 win against London and a re-match against Windsor in the championship final. An exciting game had both teams going back and forth with Windsor winning 2-1 in the last two minutes....who needs the NHL when you can see the Lady Rangers play ! The rivalry has now been set with Windsor and London for the upcoming season. Once again we are proud of our Lady Rangers!

The Oshawa tournament saw the Lady Rangers come together for the first time playing Atom A teams to begin the season. Undefeated in our first three games and losing a squeaker in our last round robin game, late game jitters and a goal differential left us out of the final two teams having London be the eventual tournament winner.   Superb goal tending and scoring from different players is getting us stronger as a team and will provide confidence in each other as we start our schedule. Good job Lady Rangers, you all have elevated your play to begin the season !
