Pirates Face Their FOURTH Top 4 Opponent in Six Weeks
The Pirates faced their fourth team from the top of the standings. That's right... four of the Pirates six opponents are all currently sitting at the top of the Peewee HL standings. This has made for a VERY difficult schedule to start the 2015 season but the Pirates continue to battle right until the final buzzer.

Despite their stellar effort, the Pirates were unable to beat the Rattlers goalie, who had to be sharp for the entire game to fend off the powerful and relentless Pirate attack. Final score Rattlers 2 - Pirates 0.

The Pirates defence corp was tested early and tested often by wave after wave of Rattler attackers and looked like it would be able to withstand the speedy, agile Rattlers going into the second period. The Rattlers onslaught could not be held off the score sheet forever and with only 15 seconds remaining in the first period, they managed to score the first of their two goals.

A few minutes later, in the second period, the Rattlers managed to snap their final marker past Moose as he closed the door from that point on to keep the game close. With the teams trading chances from that point on, the Pirates held the puck in the Rattler end on several long attacking-zone shifts but were not able to beat the Ratters' enigmatic netminder.

On a good note... once again, the Pirates held the opposition scoreless on the power play as the Ratters were unable to convert on their lone PP attempt. The Pirates strong play in their own end and excellent 'danger zone' play was solid through out the entire game.

The Pirates have had an incredibly tough schedule to start the 2015-16 year! They need to recognize that they have played some VERY tough opponents along their path so far this season. Few teams, if any, can claim to have tangled with: the first place Lions (a narrow 4-2 loss), the second place Inferno (a determined 3-1 win), the third place Hurricane (another 4-1 win), and the fourth place Rattlers (a slim 2-0 loss).

Coach Grant said, "If the boys continue to work hard in practice and bring a positive attitude each an every shift they will be rewarded as the season continues."
