Christmas Visit and a Little Bingo!
Imagine an afternoon with a little talk about encounters with Frank Sinatra, Ava Gardner and even the Queen. Mix in stories of days serving in the war, sailing to Canada to start a new life or traveling coast to coast to coast working as a nurse. It all added up to a terrific experience at the Village of Winston Park.
The Kitchener Jr. Rangers Bantam A Team shared some cheer with the residents at Winston Park. The afternoon was filled with great stories about the seniors' memorable moments meeting famous people during their lifetimes, like Frank and Ava, as well as explaining many of their incredible 'arrival' moments to Canada as young people.
The afternoon also included very competitive bingo games and refreshments but the real significance of the day was the moments around the tables with players and seniors sharing and enjoying each others' company. The players and coaches would like to thank the Village of Winston Park for hosting a very merry afternoon! A great way to kick off the holiday season for the team to be able to share and care in our community.
