The Lady Rangers Atom
B team had their first out of town hockey tournament over the weekend of
October 14th. In
addition to playing hard on the ice, our girls had a great time in all their
pink gear, to support Breast Cancer Awareness.
Our girls all had pink bandanas, and matching pink shirts. Some had pink hair dye, and pink tattoos on their faces. Our coaches even joined in on the fun, and wore sparkly pink hats and pink feathered boas. Many parents took part and wore pink also.
Our first game was a tough 5-1 loss, the other team had two quick goals to start and we couldn't recover. This didn't stop our girls from going out and winning 3-2 in our next game. Saturday morning they were on fire with a 7-0 win! Saturday afternoon was probably the most exhilarating game we have had all season. Our girls played their hearts out, we held a 1-0 lead for the majority of the game. We took two minor penalties in the dying minutes of the match and they pulled their goalie. With 6 on 3 they scored to tie the game with 3 seconds to go in the 3rd period! During OT we took another minor penalty, they scored to take the win. Unfortunately this loss ended our tournament, we didn't make it to the final game, but our girls had a great time, and we are very proud of the way they played during the entire tournament.
