Strong Fall Fest Tournament for KLR Intermediate A
Congratulations to the KLR Intermediate A team on a strong showing in this year's Fall Fest Tournament.

Through the round robin, Kitchener played tough with close games against the North York Storm (W 2-1) followed by ties against Peterborough (1-1) and Clearview (0-0).  In the quarter finals, Kitchener came out on top against the Brampton Canadettes 3-1.  An early semi-final game the next morning against Peterborough turned out to be a battle.  Both teams fought hard and it went to overtime tied at 1-1.  Kitchener took a late penalty in the third and went into the overtime period down a player in a 4 on 3 penalty kill.  Strong goaltending allowed Kitchener to survive through the PK and near the end of the penalty, Kitchener was able to chip it past the defence for a breakaway goal.  An exciting finish to a hard fought game.  In the final against St. Catharines, Kitchener battled hard against their regular league division rivals but came up just short despite pushing hard for the tie late in the game with the goalie pulled.  Congratulations to St. Catharines who earned the 2-1 championship win with strong positional play and passing that eventually broke through the Kitchener defenses.  Congratulations to all of our girls for the strong work ethic and compete level against strong competition.  Special mention goes to our solid goaltending that has been there all season but all the players put in strong performances.  Thanks also to coaches Ted and Mike and of course to Trainer Mama Dobes who was very busy icing the bumps and bruises and keeping the nutrition level up with all the girls.

Congratulations Ladies once again on a very strong tournament.
