Rangers Silence the Wolves in an Up and Down Game
The Rangers squeaked out a 4-3 win against their cross town rivals the Waterloo Wolves in a back and forth game.

The Rangers came out flying to start in the first period, something the coaches were looking for which was an improvement from our first game.  Brett Herniman opened the scoring on a beautiful fake shot and deke for his 3rd goal of the season unassisted.  Just over a minute later the Rangers were up two on a laser beam shot from Sam Clark assisted by two Spencers, McCormick and Bulyaki who made a sweet outlet pass to start the play.  Less than 2 minutes later the Rangers went up by 3 goals on a goal mouth scramble that saw Tyler Oude-Vishaar bang it home with an assist from Owen Stewart.  Everything could not have started better for the Rangers.............then the 2nd period started.

To start the period the Rangers were killing off a penalty when Spencer McCormick put his hard hat on for the penalty kill, evaded a couple of Wolves down the boards and wrapped the puck around to give the Rangers a 3 goal lead again.  Before the end of the period the Wolves made it a two goal game again to put all the pressure on the Rangers.

The third period was a sloppy turnover filled frame that saw the Rangers lose their legs and start reaching for pucks and making mistakes.  They fought hard right to the end even with Waterloo making it a one goal game and coming really close to tying it with less than 7 seconds left in the third.  Max Thompson got the win and made some key saves for the Rangers when needed especially down the stretch in the late stages of the third.  Lots of good takeaways from this game mostly from the first half and lots of stuff to work on......it was only game 2 though!

Taking home the Rangers Mr. Big game lunch box for his outstanding outlet passes, smart defensive and team first play was Spencer Bulyaki.  Well done!
