Ep 3 – Blood, sweat and tears
Outstanding tournament, Photos Wednesday, Hotel reservations, Community Give Back Event, and Fundraising.  Read on...

Good morning Ranger Fans!

Outstanding tournament

Wow!  What an outstanding effort from the boys at the Cambridge tournament.  Excellent team play even though we faced some stiff competition from across the province.  An undefeated round robin as well as a tremendous showing against the KJR MD Red team is nothing to be ashamed of!  Our athletes have picked up on our set faceoffs.  We’re so proud of the development they’re showing already.   We literally had blood.  Poor Michael sustained a laceration from a skate – and wanted to go back out on the ice!  We had tears.  Some frustrated players had emotion boil over.  Because they want to compete – brilliant.  And finally sweat.  Tons of it.  Every player showed tons of grit and hustle.   A quick word from Trainer Scott; a good time to give the hockey gear a full cleaning. :-)

Individual Pictures on Wednesday

With COVID protocols being in place still, the league has suggested we do not conduct team photos yet, for the safety of the players.  One of the KMHA approved suppliers should be available later in the season for a full team picture.  Hang in there.  However – the social team will not be beat!   Please come to practice on Wednesday with your game jerseys for individual pictures.  We will find a suitable back drop and take pictures for the banner and for player cards.

Hotel reservation for Burlington tournament

Our block of rooms have been reserved for the Burlington tournament next month.  To book a reservation under our group booking code please call the Holiday Inn Burlington at 905-639-4443 and ask for reservations. You can tell the agent that you are booking under a group reservation code:  KJR.  Give the team name and book your two queen bedroom at the rate of  $139.00.  As a reminder, the 10th annual Rep MD Challenge Cup is November 26,27,28.

Community Give Back Event November 22

In an effort to help build the character of our favourite Kitchener Jr Rangers, we are doing a community give back event this season. Covid has shifted many things in our community and the need for outreach has never been greater or more visible. As such, we will be doing a combined team social and community giveback event on Monday November 22 at 5:30PM.  We are still preparing the travel permit and fine tuning the details.   Please hold the date for now.    Each family is being asked to donate $25 for this charity event.  We have decided to support the Build-A-Bag Angels program and have the players actively do the work. This charity supports young people in the foster care system, who sometimes fall outside of the reach of Child and Family Services.  More details to follow as the date gets closer.

Fundraising – Sponsorship Letter

I attached a copy of the sponsorship letter in my update.  Please refer to my email for a copy of the letter you may use with local sponsors to help support our effort.   We’ve tried to give sponsors lots of visibility with their support/logo being prominently displayed.  Suggested support amounts range from $250 - $1,000.  Please refer to my attachment for more details.
