Fundraising Update (SOLD OUT!)
Jon Rietberg from Domino’s Pizza has very generously donated 50 large pizza vouchers to support our team fundraising initiative. We will be selling each certificate for $10.00- an excellent deal for 1-large 3 topping pizza- for use at any Domino’s location in Kitchener until April 30/22. $500 profit for our team will be put towards the G&G skating sessions that will be starting again soon.
Jon is planning to stop by towards the end of our practice tonight to drop off the pizza vouchers and grab a quick photo with our boys (masks on please!).
If you’d like to participate in this fundraiser by purchasing some for your own family or to sell to extended family or friends, please let Jen Kolb. know how many certificates you’d like. You can send the payment to the team account.
SportsHeadz Compliance
As we emerge from the pandemic, it is important to rely on the tools we have to limit the spread of Covid-19 on our squad. We’ve had a few families reach out letting us know some kids are showing symptoms; not always Covid-19 related. Just a reminder, we have to follow the SportsHeadz tool to the letter. Please read the questions carefully and respond accordingly. We have to rely on each family to honestly declare symptoms and take actions accordingly. We’ve appreciated the cautious approach everyone has taken so far.
Showing Support for Reagan Yuke
Reagan Yuke is the VP of Boys Rep hockey. Many of you are aware that Reagan Yuke has fallen ill. Reagan has worked continuously behind the scenes to dedicating time to help hockey possible in Kitchener. She has dedicated her adult life to making this sport enjoyable and equitable for our players.
One of the ways that will help most is if people make a donation to the Canadian Blood Services in Reagan's name. Other ways you might show your support include taping your sticks green to represent Non Hodgkin’s Triple Hit Lymphoma (the type of cancer that Reagan has) or by switching the team laces to green. The intent is to publicly surround this family with support and show them our appreciation for all of the time they have given to the KMHA in present and past seasons and to help buoy Reagan’s spirits as she continues to battle. Thanks for showing your support team.
Brantford
The coach of the Brantford team has reached out saying their heath unit has changed gears a few times since the lockdown was lifted. They required a Canatrace app, now they don’t. Some have asked for proof of ID in addition to vaccination proof. Sometimes, not. Bottom line is we don’t know exactly what we’re into as we head to Brantford. Please be prepared to show ID (I know, I know) and proof of vaccination using the QR code for both spectator and player. Let’s show that Ranger spirit with lots of patience and grace for the arena staff as we get our next road game (and win 😉) under our belt. Thanks for your understanding.
