Running with the Wild
The Lady Rangers travelled up highway 85 Sunday to play an early evening game with the Woolwich Wild.

Coming out slow in the first (this is becoming a worrying trend) the Lady’s gave up two first period goals on some weak passing / clearing attempts.

Regrouping after the first fifteen, the Lady’s played a sound second period with prolonged “Ozone” time, solid puck movement, pressure, and several quality scoring opportunities. The Lady’s were finally rewarded for their efforts with a beautiful low corner pass to driving net front, bringing them within one. Hoping to keep the momentum heading into the third, it felt like the Lady’s returned to the first. Unfortunately, another “fail to clear” the DZone solidified the Wild’s “W”. When you play good teams, they will make you play for your mistakes and Woolwich is a good team.

The goals were certainly preventable. As we discussed, every pass you muck-up in practice is a pass you will muck-up in a game. Every clearing attempt you muck-up in practice is one you will muck-up in a game. Every shot that misses the net in practice is a shot that misses the net in a game. What you do (and how you do it) in practice counts. Challenge yourselves for that “practice” like it’s a game purpose.
