The Lady Rangers welcomed the Woolwich
Wild in their last game of the 2023 / 2024 regular season.
After twenty-one regular season games against the Cambridge Roadrunners, Grand River Mustangs, Guelph Gryphons, Saugeen Maitland Lightning, Stratford Aces and the Waterloo Ravens, the Lady Rangers ended their regular season play against the Woolwich Wild. Although starting slow in the first few minutes of the first, the Lady’s managed to score on their first shot of the period on a great defense rush effort. As discussed in the room, penalties will catch up to you at some point and the Wild capitalized on their PP effort early in the second to tie the game at one. From that point on, the Lady’s dove the bus, had several great OZ opportunities and noticeably worked on several things from last night’s practice, holding the Wild to just five shots over the remaining twenty odd minutes of play. The tie kept the Lady Rangers in 2nd place for the season with an overall record of 13 wins, 6 losses and 3 ties for 29 points.
Congratulations on well-deserved 2nd place finish in a successful regular season of hockey play. Your growth and development, both on and off the ice, has been a pleasure to have been a part of. Your ability to make good “Choices and Options” is clear. You are a talented group of “A” hockey players and we hope you now all believe as much in yourselves as we believe in you. Raise the left arm, put it over the right shoulder and……..let’s get ready for the “second season” of play.
