OWHA Local League (Kitchener Minor Hockey)

Programming being held tonight as well as Tuesday the 4th will continue as scheduled. This includes developmental programs such as the Tuesday HL goalie group.   All KMHA Hockey programming including, Boys, Girls, Special, Sledge, House League, Select, Local League, D.S., Minor Development, Seeded, AAA, Development Programs, Power Skating and Goalie Training, will be on pause from Jan 5th till at least Jan 26th while arenas are closed.   KMHA will take that time to work with our governing bodies and facility partners to determine the best plan for returning to Hockey, and what that means ...

KMHA is writing this article to answer some frequently asked questions in relation to the current Pause on Hockey Activities.  We have received a few emails and noted posts on social media. We hope that these answers will help to explain the thinking and ensure you that it is our intention to return to Hockey promptly in January. 

The KMHA Board of Directors met again tonight to discuss the on going and changing environment in our association around the COVID 19 pandemic.  It was with great difficulty, much debate and due to an exponential growth rate in exposures over the last 2 days that has led us to put a PAUSE on all Hockey activities (Games, Tournaments, Practices, Dry-Land, and Team socials) effective Dec 17th 2021 at (12:01am) until Jan 2nd 2022 at (12:01am).  

Dear KMHA Families, KMHA works diligently to create positive environments and , healthy, fun play spaces for our participants to enjoy Hockey. The mental, physical and emotional health of our players, coaching staff, volunteers, and staff is our primary focus. We want to keep our teams safe and on the ice playing the games they love.
